South Dakota Nursing and Health Care Schools
The South Dakota Labor Market Information Center finds that the state's health care industry employs about 11 percent of resident workers. In fact, the average industry salaries are increasing faster than any other industry in the Mouth Rushmore State. Some of South Dakota's fastest growing careers, such as medical assistant and registered nurse (RN), are in the health care industry.
South Dakota nursing schools include the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program, which takes one to two years to complete; the Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) program, which takes about two years to complete; and the BS in nursing program, which takes four years to complete. The last is required for graduate study for several nursing specialties. However, most South Dakota employers prefer the Associate's Degree in Nursing or higher. If you're attracted to health care and nursing schools in South Dakota, discover how you can study to enter the thriving health care industry.
