Find a Health Care or Nursing School Near You
Whether you're looking or a local health care or nursing school or an online program, career trends indicate investing in your education may boost your career opportunities in a booming industry. In fact, the US Bureau of Labor Statistics notes that the health care industry is growing faster than all US industries. Nurses are always in high demand, but so are medical assistants, health care managers and other health care professionals.
According to the BLS, most health care careers require students to earn at least a 2-year associate degree, though others may require advanced graduate work. Medical assistants, for instance, can typically bolster a 2-year program with on the job training, while a health care manager may be required to earn a master's degree. Nursing schools often offer a variety of different degree types, from a BS in nursing to a master's in nursing, suited or different career goals. Many of these fields, particularly nursing, require certification and ongoing continuing education courses (CEUs) long after a degree is earned.
