Marijke Vroomen-Durning, RN
Marijke Vroomen-Durning is a registered nurse (RN). She has used her nursing background as a springboard to launch a successful career as a health writer. Her work has been published in The American Association of Family Physician's Essential Guide to Health, as well as in The American Red Cross First Responder's Manual. She also writes for various health-related magazines and websites. Marijke spent time teaching English as a Second Language, specializing in French to English translation. She uses this linguistic skill set to translate difficult and complicated medical information into easy-to-read texts for the general public.
Derek J. Brocklehurst, BSN, RN
Derek Brocklehurst is a Nurse Study Coordinator. He works at an infectious disease research clinic in San Francisco. His last position entailed working as a Research Nurse, focusing on HIV prevention services. He earned his bachelor's degree in Integrative Biology from UC Berkeley, as well as a bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) from the University of Pennsylvania.
Sue Barton, PNP
Sue Barton is a pediatric nurse practitioner (PNP). She has worked in college health services, where she supervised and mentored nursing students at both the undergraduate and graduate level. Furthermore, she worked as a public health nurse and as a nursing supervisor. She has experience working on a multidisciplinary team in a program designed to help juvenile amputees as well. Sue earned her bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) and a master's degree in public health.
