Browse Top Occupational & Physical Therapy Schools
While there are differences between physical therapy degrees and occupational therapy degrees, both train graduates to help patients overcome pain or disabilities in order to become healthier and more independent. Physical therapy schools stress biology, chemistry, and physics, as well as subjects like biomechanics, examination techniques, human growth and development, and therapeutic procedures. You must earn your physical therapy degree from an accredited physical therapy school and pass a licensure exam in order to practice physical therapy.
Occupational therapy school programs also focus on physical and biological sciences, as well as behavioral science and the application of certain adaptive behaviors or equipment. An occupational therapy bachelor's degree is the minimum requirement to work in this field, although a master's degree or higher is preferred. Occupational therapy schools prepare graduates to help recovering patients perform daily tasks in order to maintain an independent lifestyle.
